4. The potential for cysts

Vaginal and vulvar cysts can pop up out of nowhere, though most are harmless and fade on their own. Vaginal cysts form inside the vagina and are often painless, while vulvar cysts on the outer folds may feel tender. Blocked glands or ingrown hairs might be the culprits. For small cysts, a warm sitz bath can ease discomfort. But if a cyst turns painful, red, swollen, or triggers fever, see a doctor for proper care.
