Any house might have unpleasant scents, but the combination of soap and salt provides a natural and efficient way to get rid of most kinds of smells.
Put an open jar with a mix of salt and a few drops of liquid soap in the rear of your refrigerator to help with refrigerator smells. The soap smells fresh, clean; the salt will absorb moisture and smells. For ongoing odour control, replace this combination several weeks apart.
Make a dry mixture equal parts salt and baking soda, then add a few drops of your preferred essential oil to refresh carpets and upholstery. generously sprinkle this mixture over carpets or fabric surfaces; let it sit for several hours or overnight; then, thoroughly hoover. While the essential oil smells nice, the salt and baking soda cooperate to absorb smells.
Boil a saucepan of water including a handful of salt and a few drops of dish soap to remove cooking smells. The steam will assist to neutralise strong cooking scents; the soap and salt mix leaves your kitchen feeling fresh and clean.
